Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet defended four early chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
